Have People Develop a sense of Purpose and Community Blog

With things settling down and not as many COVID-19 cases have started to increase throughout the United States of America (USA). People are not as worried as they were today, as they were in March and April 2020. As of the middle of May, more and more states have opened their doors in various phases, and by late July most businesses should be fully opened and back to normal capacity. From the various social media post, videos, and daily conversations, most people want life to return back to normal. Life before COVID-19 was moving at a very fast paste for most, in the fast lane without any end in sight. Regard for others well-being wasn’t as common as people are seeing today. The tragic murders of various people like George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, have brought people from all over the world together. People are actually trying to communicate more with one another from a positive perspective. With people having more time on their hands due to stay at home orders, and people wanting to see a change from a local, state, and national policy levels when it comes to police brutality. Multiple conversations are starting to take place even with people, who most would never think that they would communicate with one another. Such as law enforcement organizations, and grass-root organizations. Business communities are responding as well, from offering more job opportunities to various African American communities. When I drive around my community in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia (DMV) area. I have noticed that more and more people talking to one another, and the majority of the subject matters consist of various topics such as how is your health nowadays, and how have you been affected financially by the COVID-19 crisis? Also, people are finding a real sense of purpose in their lives. Meaning that people have had time to analyze the true meaning of why they are not satisfied with their everyday lives. Why they cannot get ahead, and in my opinion, this boils down to two basic things. One having a regular 9 to 5 job is a great thing, and nothing to be ashamed of. However, it takes away a good chunk of your day to day life that most people do not have to time, nor the energy to concentrate on their goals, aspirations, and true purpose life. Most people become very comfortable with only having a 9 to 5 job, and taking orders, being told what they should be happy about, etc. Two when one is only associated with people who do not think and implement tasks outside of the box, then they will for the most part remain in a comfort zone and in a place of complacency. More people are opening up more home base businesses, and are collaborating with more people because they’ve had more time to plan and strategize different ways to change the trajectory of their lives. I grew up as a single child, and one thing that I have always appreciated is having my silent and alone time. This time allows me to think, write down ideas, and implement them as soon as possible. Being around people who think outside of the normal employee box, allows creativity and ideas to form and to move forward. With major league sports, like NFL, NBA, and more not operating in a full capacity or at all, allows people to focus on more important things like not only their careers, and businesses but their families, and health. Because at the end of the day, your health is your wealth. Less stress along with a balanced diet, and some reasonable daily exercises can change your outlook on life, and daily behavior.
